Slag Pile Removal and Reuse

CJK is also planning to remove the large piles of slag material located just south of town. The slag material can be repurposed as aggregate for road base, asphalt and concrete — uses the EPA supports. State and County permitting for this project are also in process. Elimination of these slag piles will improve the appearance of the south entry into Leadville.
